In designing the largest and most formidable driver ever used in an SVS subwoofer, it was of the utmost importance to meet or exceed the same highest standards of control and accuracy as any other SVS subwoofer manufacturer. A huge advancement that enables the PB16 Ultra to handle the crushing power of a 16-inch driver is the 8-inch edge-wound voice coil, the largest ever used in a consumer subwoofer. This innovation provides ultra-low distortion, efficient heat dissipation, exceptional linearity and virtually no power compression. Larger drivers are inherently more difficult to control, but the unmatched voice coil design provides accurate frequency response and speed in transients without ever sounding boomy.
The driver is driven by four massive, dedicated toroidal ferrite magnets that enable a staggering 78mm peak-peak excursion and the highest levels of motor power and palpable SPLs. The lightweight and rigid 16-inch Ultra driver cone consists of a high-quality fiberglass resin composite with an optimal stiffness-to-mass ratio to maximize the movement of air and sound energy without ever distorting or losing control.
The 64 Amp 200-Volt MOSFETs of the PB16-Ultra Sledge STA-1500D amplifier, which has a conservative rated power of 1,500 watts continuous and a peak power of over 5,000 watts, are the sonic muscle behind what is arguably the most powerful and true-to-life subwoofer amplifier ever developed. Discrete MOSFET output results in superior handling and control of the immense amplifier power and is a significant upgrade over the integrated circuits in almost all other Class D subwoofers.

For added convenience, 2-way feedback shows updates in real time on both the app and the subwoofer interface, and Bluetooth connectivity allows you to make adjustments even when the subwoofer is out of sight. Control is also available via an IR remote and an intuitive front panel display.
